What is Tata Play porting?
Tata Play porting means switching your existing DTH connection to Tata Play. The process involves installing a new Tata Play HD set-top box, realigning your existing dish or installing a new one if needed, and activating a new Tata Play subscription. The whole process takes 1–2 hours.
Can I keep my existing dish when porting to Tata Play?
Yes, in most cases your existing dish can be reused after realignment. Our technician assesses the dish condition on-site and realigns or replaces it as needed. The HD Porting plan at ₹2,890 covers dish assessment and realignment at no extra charge.
How long does Tata Play porting take?
The complete porting process takes 1–2 hours from when the technician arrives. Same-day porting is available in many Tamil Nadu areas when booked before 4 PM, subject to technician availability.
Do I lose my existing subscription when porting to Tata Play?
Your existing DTH subscription will stop when you stop recharging it. Your new Tata Play connection starts fresh with whatever plan you choose. The HD Porting plan includes 1 month free subscription to get you started.
What is the cost of porting to Tata Play?
If you already have a dish: ₹2,890 for the HD Porting plan. If you need a completely new setup: ₹3,390 for the HD Dhamaka plan which includes a new dish, box, cable, and ₹3,600 recharge balance. Standard installation is included; extra cable or special mounting is quoted first.
Can I port from Tata Sky to Tata Play?
Tata Sky is now called Tata Play (rebranded in 2022). If you have an existing Tata Sky connection, it is already a Tata Play connection — no porting needed. Just continue recharging as usual.
